Description
In 1981, L&N received a group of 50 cabooses from the Fruit Growers Express facility in Alexandria, Virginia. Like the MoPac cars before them, these were intended for regular road service. They were delivered in the then standard Family Lines paint scheme. Clinchfield received six of these cars at the time of the L&N order. Begun in 1986, INRD purchased a single ex-L&N caboose from CSX to add to its fleet of former ICG wide vision cabooses. As of January, 1983 all of the Family Lines Railroads were merged together to form Seaboard System. Equipment began to be renumbered with SBD reporting marks including a number of these cabooses inherited from both L&N and Clinchfield.
These newly-tooled, ready-to-run models feature wire grab and cut levers, Kadee 5 couplers and other super-detailing.
